Introduction

Welcome to my blog

Over the next 15 weeks I will be learning American Sign Language (ASL) and aspects of Deaf culture. I decided to do my blog on what many of us view as a disability but members of the deaf community do not see it as such. I hope that by the time I am finished we will all have a better understanding of what it means to be deaf by immersing ourselves in the language and culture.

I'd also like to look at the resources that can be employed to make sure that deaf citizens are afforded the same opportunities as everyone else, This seems to be an area that needs to be addressed in T&T
